Giants Have Faith In Eli Manning, Open To Trading Down

Feb 28, 2018 4:47 PM

The New York Giants are open to trading down from the No. 2 overall slot in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The Giants believe Manning has several years remaining in his career.

"Are we open for business? You know, whatever," said Dave Gettleman. "Any decision I make is going to be in the best interest of the New York Football Giants. Plain and simple. So if someone makes me an offer I can't refuse, would I move back? Depends on who is there.

"Again, if there is a guy worthy of being the second pick of the draft and what we're basically saying and answering that question to the affirmative, you're drafting what you think is going to be a Hall of Fame player. So you can't get too cute about that thing."

The Browns could select a quarterback first overall, while the Broncos and Jets also have interest in a quarterback.

"It's an interesting class. All shapes, sizes. All flavors," Gettleman said. "It's like Howard Johnson's back in the day. I'm excited about meeting some of these guys here. It will be fun. Obviously we'll be busy once the combine is over visiting and you have your 30 private visits. So that will be part of the process. It's a really interesting, eclectic group."

Josh Rosen Denies Wanting To Avoid Browns In Draft

Feb 27, 2018 9:55 AM

Josh Rosen denied previous reports that he feared potentially being drafted by the Cleveland Browns.

"I’ve never said anything about not wanting to play in Cleveland," said Rosen. "I don’t know where that came from. There's absolutely no foundation in reality in that (report)."

Rosen is expected to be one of the top selections in the 2018 NFL Draft after leaving UCLA and the Browns own the top overall selection.

Bill Polian Believes 6'3 Lamar Jackson Too 'Short' To Play QB

Feb 20, 2018 10:23 AM

Bill Polian continues to contort himself to dismissing Lamar Jackson's NFL credentials.

"Short and a little bit slight," Polian said of Jackson on ESPN's Golic and Wingo Monday. "And clearly, clearly not the thrower that the other guys are. The accuracy isn't there."

Jackson is 6'3 and 211 pounds, which makes him about league average in terms of height for an NFL quarterback.

Jackson is three inches taller than Baker Mayfield, who Polian is high on. Polian has also been high in the past on Johnny Manziel, who is under 6'0.

Polian believes Jackson should be converted to a wide receiver.

"Exceptional athlete, exceptional ability to make you miss, exceptional acceleration, exceptional instinct with the ball in his hand and that's rare for wide receivers. That's [Antonio Brown], and who else? Name me another one, Julio [Jones is] not even like that."

FOX To Televise 2018 NFL Draft

Feb 14, 2018 5:02 PM

Fox will televise the NFL draft for the first time in its history, partnering with the NFL Network for a joint production that will air on both networks.

Fox will televise the first round on Thursday, April 26, and the second and third rounds on Friday, April 27.

ESPN, which has broadcast the draft since 1980, will continue to do so. Since 2006, both ESPN and the NFL Network have broadcast separate productions of the draft.

ESPN initially didn't pay to televise the draft but they have more recently been charged a rights fee.
